This beautiful tumbler crafted by Unrakugama features cherry blossoms and autumn leaves, a symbol of Kyoto and the kiln itself.
Unrakugama is at the forefront of the Kiyomizu ware tradition for the last 130 years. The current head of the store, the third generation Master Unraku Saito, is one of the few craftsmen in the industry officially recognized by the Japanese government for his artistry.
Saito Sensei is currently 93 years old but is still active as ever. As the only living member of the six young craftsmen who started a new movement in Kiyomizu ware, he has only taken two days off work in the last 30 years.
