Chikueido Silversmith has specialized in silversmith for over 200 years. The first store master started his work in the 18th century and passed his skill to the subsequent generations.
Their artwork was first recognized at the international scene during the late 19th century with Chikueido's fourth master. Japonisme was popular at the cultural scene of Europe at the time, and Chikueido's artwork received critical acclaim from German and French artists and collectors. Domestically, Chikueido has since made custom made artifacts to loyalties and has cemented its place as one of the foremost silversmiths in Japan.
Today Master Nakamaura Eishin, the seventh generation master of Chikueido, continues the store's tradition to produce the best-in-class silverware.
